India-US Trade Deal: ‘Will Modi government help Indian agriculture…’, Priyanka Gandhi fired at the government regarding India-US trade deal.

After the announcement of India-US trade deal, the tariff on Indian products has been reduced to 18 percent. India will benefit billions of dollars from this. On the other hand, there is an uproar regarding this in India. The opposition, especially Congress, is attacking the Modi government regarding the farmers’ issue and is continuously asking questions to it.

Congress General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra raised questions about this trade deal by posting on social media platform X on Tuesday (February 3). The Congress leader said that America has said that the products of American farmers will now be sold in the Indian market, which will bring money to rural America. With this deal, Trump has ensured benefits for American farmers.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s questions
He further said that crores of farmers of India want to know what are the terms of this trade agreement? Is the Modi government going to completely open the Indian agricultural sector to America? Will the government put Indian farmers into direct competition with American companies? Have the interests of our farmers been compromised? The situation should be immediately clarified before the public.

US Agriculture Secretary’s statement
This statement of Priyanka Gandhi comes after the statement of US Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins, in which it has been said that this trade deal is expected to boost the export of American agricultural products to the Indian market. Rising prices will increase cash flow in rural America. Rollins said that America’s agricultural trade deficit with India in 2024 was $1.3 billion. India’s growing population is an important market for American agricultural products and today’s agreement will go a long way in reducing this deficit.

India’s stand
Regarding agricultural products, high level sources say that there will be no compromise on Indian agricultural products. The government stands firm on its stand. There will be no compromise on agriculture and dairy. The government will not compromise with the interests of Indian farmers.
