Now the news is that this platform owned by Meta is testing a feature by which you will be able to remove yourself from the Close Friends list of another user. At present this feature is in the initial stage and has not been made available to common users yet.
What is Close Friends feature and what will change in it?
The Close Friends feature, launched in 2018, allows users to share their Stories and Reels with only selected people. Till now, if someone adds you to his Close Friends list, you do not have any option to remove yourself. But after the new update, if you wish, you will be able to exit that list yourself. By doing this, the private Stories and Reels of that user will not be visible to you until he adds you again.

Information about this upcoming feature has been given by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi. He also noted that Instagram is working on some new subscription-based tools. These may include features like the facility to create an unlimited audience list, the option to see who is not following you back and watching Stories without the other person knowing. Interestingly, Snapchat already offers a feature where users can remove themselves from someone’s private story. Now Instagram also seems to be moving in the same direction.
Paid plan may come for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp
Recently Meta has indicated that it may be testing new subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Although the company has not yet shared complete information, it is believed that through these premium plans, users will get more advanced controls and exclusive features. The good thing is that the basic and essential features of Instagram will remain free as before.
