iPhone that recognizes your name
Many times someone calls your name in a crowd and you don’t even realize it. The Name Recognition feature of iOS 26 solves this problem. It alerts you as soon as it hears your name.
To turn it on, go to Settings > Accessibility > Sound & Name Recognition > Name Recognition. Here you can type your name or record it yourself. When the feature is on, a small orange indicator appears to show that the phone is listening.
Now folders will also appear in different colors
The Files app has now become more personal. In iOS 26, you can customize folders by giving them color, icon or emoji. This makes it easier to identify work files and personal documents. Simply press and hold the folder, select Customize Folder and Tags, and set the color or symbol you want. This change will automatically appear on your iPhone as well as iPad and Mac.
Relief from spam calls and messages
Unwanted calls and fake messages will no longer be a big problem. Apple has made the spam filter smarter in iOS 26. Calls and suspicious messages coming from unknown numbers automatically go to a separate list. For this, go to Settings > Apps and turn on Filter Spam in Messages and Screen Unknown Callers in Phone. If you often forget to answer missed calls, then Call Back Reminder of iOS 26 will be useful to you. Swipe up on a missed call in the Phone app and tap the clock icon. You can set reminder as per your convenience. After making a call, it can be easily marked as complete.
AirPods will become camera remote
Apple’s ecosystem has become stronger in iOS 26. Now some AirPods models can be used as camera remotes. Set up a press action by going to Settings > AirPods > Camera Remote. After this, while taking a group photo, just press the stem of the AirPods and the photo will be clicked, eliminating the hassle of timer.
