The peace talks between America and Iran, which were scheduled to begin on April 10, 2026, have now increased the risk of their cancellation or disruption. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Raza Amiri Moghadam deleted the post from social media in which it was told about the Iranian representative going to Islamabad to participate in the talks. In such a situation, questions are now being raised whether Iran does not trust Pakistan and does not want to hold talks in Islamabad.
Iranian ambassador’s post created an uproar
Iranian Ambassador Amiri Moghadam had posted on X that the Iranian delegation is going to reach Pakistan for talks with America on permanent peace. Now this post of his has been deleted. Israel and America are adamant that Lebanon is not included in this ceasefire. Amiri Moghadam had said that Israel violated the ceasefire in Lebanon and yet Iran is coming to Islamabad for talks.
Preparations for a big meeting going on in Islamabad
US Vice President Vance may come to Pakistan for talks with the aim of ending the US-Israel war against Iran. According to CNN report, two American officials said, ‘After Pakistan presented itself as an important mediator, preparations are going on for a big meeting in Islamabad this week. Perhaps JD Vance can go to Pakistan along with senior officials of US President Donald Trump’s government.
Earlier, The Financial Times had said that Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir had spoken to Trump on Sunday. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke to Iran’s President Masoud Pejeshkian on Monday.
Talks between Iran and America continue: White House
Meanwhile, the White House has said that American military operations against Iran are going ahead of schedule and are getting closer to their main objectives. At the same time, Washington is continuing meaningful talks with Tehran, the aim of which is to end this conflict. The White House said on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) that the negotiating team will include special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
