A senior cleric of the 88-member Assembly of Experts said on Saturday that members would meet to choose the Islamic Republic’s next leader. According to Iranian media, there was a dispute over the process required to formalize the assembly. Some members believe that a formal in-person meeting is necessary. Ayatollah Mohsen Haidari Alekassir said that in-person session is not possible right now.
