While the tension in West Asia and the ongoing war between Iran and Israel has affected the import and export of crude oil all over the world, now gradually it has started affecting many other daily essential goods of the people as well. This includes the increase in prices of oil, cold drinks and drinking water. Due to shortage of raw material required for packing of these goods, their prices are continuously increasing.
Due to the shortage of raw material required for making packing material, which is commonly called pet region, their prices are increasing. Packing material, in which drinking water or cold drink bottles, edible oil bottles, pickles, spices, juices, finals or other items are packed, is continuously becoming expensive.
What is used to make packing material?
Actually, the pet region required to make packing material is a by-product of petroleum. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is also being used in making it. Ever since the government has ordered to increase the production of LPG, its effect has started becoming visible on the stomach region.
What did the traders of Jammu say on the increase in prices of pet region?
The owners of packing material factories in Jammu claim that ever since the war between Iran-Israel and America started, the prices of pet food have increased by 40 percent. Before the war started, the price per kg of stomach region was Rs 90, which has now increased to Rs 140 per kg. Even after the increase in prices, raw material is not available, due to which the concerns of the people associated with this business have increased. Whereas amidst the rising prices of pet food, people associated with this business have increased the prices of bottles and other items used in packing.
