The Airline Pilots Association of India (ALPA India) has issued an advisory circular alerting all pilots flying on Indian licenses about the increasing threats in the airspace over the Middle East. According to ALPA India, the risk to civil aviation has increased significantly due to the rapidly changing situation and ongoing war in the region.
It has been told in the advisory that airspace may suddenly close at many places. There remains a danger of missile and drone attacks. The risk of electronic warfare remains. The possibility of misidentification of civil aircraft has also increased.

Big warning regarding insurance
ALPA India has expressed serious concern especially regarding insurance. The advisory states that if flying in a war zone or high risk airspace, insurance companies may limit or even withdraw coverage completely under war risk rules. This may affect the safety and insurance protection of pilots and crew members.
Strict instructions to pilots
ALPA India has instructed pilots to read NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) carefully before every flight. Follow operational briefings and company advisories. Check with your airline for insurance and war-risk coverage. Ensure that a risk assessment has been carried out for the route in question
impact of global stress
The impact of ongoing tension in the Middle East is now clearly visible on civil aviation as well. In such a situation, this advisory is considered very important for pilots from safety point of view.
