Google Voice Activity: Many times, after talking on a topic on the phone, advertisements related to it start appearing. In such a situation, a question arises in people’s mind that does Google record our conversations secretly? The answer to this question is not completely yes or no, but there is definitely a feature related to it, which is named Google Voice Activity.
What is Google Voice Activity?
Google Voice Activity is actually a feature linked to Google account which saves the voice commands and search records given by you. When you ask a question by saying Ok Google or Hey Google, or do a voice search, its recording can be saved in your account. Its purpose is to improve Google Assistant and give you more accurate results.
Does Google record without telling you?
Google says that it records voice only when the user himself gives voice commands or the microphone is allowed. However, sometimes the phone gets activated by mistake due to which some audio clips may get saved. This is the reason why people feel that Google is listening all the time.
How to view your voice recording?
If you want to know which of your voice activities has been saved by Google, then this task is very easy. You have to go to your Google account and open Activity Controls or My Activity section. Here under “Voice & Audio Activity” you will see your recordings with date and time, which you can listen to yourself.
How to delete Voice Activity?
If you do not like these recordings then you can also delete them. If you want, you can delete any one recording or clear the entire Voice Activity at once. Apart from this, by going to Settings, you can also turn off Voice & Audio Activity so that your voice is not saved in future.
What to do to increase privacy?
To strengthen your privacy, keep checking the activity of your Google account from time to time. Give microphone permission only to essential apps and if you do not use the Hey Google feature, turn it off. Google Voice Activity is not a spy feature but it does save your voice searches and commands.
