‘Is Revanth Reddy the Chief Minister or a street rowdy?’, BRS angry over the language of CM Revanth in the Assembly

On Monday, once again a period of political tension and allegations and counter-allegations was seen in the Telangana Assembly. The main opposition party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has fiercely attacked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and announced to boycott the ongoing session of the Assembly over the partisan attitude of the Speaker.

Questions raised on choice of language and words

During the discussion in the Assembly, BRS leader and senior MLA T. Harish Rao raised questions on the language and choice of words of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Harish Rao alleged that the Chief Minister, forgetting his position, was following former Chief Minister K. Using derogatory language against Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).

He said in strong words, ‘Is Revanth Reddy the Chief Minister or a street rowdy?’

The BRS leader alleges that the CM is issuing death threats and derogatory remarks against KCR, which is shameful for the democratic culture.

‘Speaker is not allowing the opposition party to speak in the House’

The controversy was not limited to this. Harish Rao also made serious allegations against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad. He said that the Speaker is not giving the main opposition party a chance to speak in the House.

Harish Rao said, ‘The speaker is clearly saying that we cannot criticize the Chief Minister. He has said on record that if we discuss the Chief Minister, he will cut off the mic. If we cannot criticize the Chief Minister, then what is the point of us sitting here as the opposition?

‘Speaker’s attitude is murder of democracy’

Terming this attitude of the Speaker as murder of democracy, Harish Rao said that instead of saving the dignity of the post of Speaker, favoritism is being done.

BRS has boycotted the Assembly for the remaining time of this session in protest against the attitude of Gaddam Prasad Kumar of the Assembly Speaker and the government’s neglect. He has made it clear that until the opposition gets justice and the mike is not opened, the party will not return to the House.
