Know about the Strait of Hormuz…
The Strait of Hormuz is considered a narrow sea corridor. This is the main entry gate of the Persian Gulf. It is between Iran in the north and United Arab Emirates and Oman in the south. In a way, it is a link between the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. This Strait of Hormuz is approximately 100 miles i.e. 161km long. This route narrows to about 21 miles.
The navigation lane here is only two miles wide. Due to its shallow waters there is a danger of naval mines on ships. Here there is danger from missiles launched from the shore of ships, patrol craft and helicopters.
Why is the Strait of Hormuz important?
The reason for this is simple. This accounts for almost a quarter of the world’s seaborne oil shipments. This is an important route for energy trade. Most Persian Gulf exporters have no other sea route for their shipments. According to Reuters, data from analytics firm Bortexa showed that an average of more than 20 million barrels of crude oil, condensate and refined fuel passed through Hormuz last year.
OPEC members use this route to ship to Asian markets. Depend on this. Qatar makes all its LNG shipments through this route.
What harm can occur due to road closure?
If Iran closes this route, oil prices may increase. There will be interruption in oil supply. Crude oil prices will increase. This can destabilize the world economy. That means, overall, the closure of this route will have a big impact on the global oil market.

Due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, short routes for sea ships will be closed, increasing transportation costs will affect most countries. There will be a delay in supply hence the problem of shortage. Iran has 3000 short range missiles which can hit up to 200-250 KM. Iran will intensify attacks on Gulf countries supporting America and Israel with these missiles. Like the previous air strikes, Iran will not stop the attacks.
Iran has prepared to fight this war for a long time. America and Israel will implement the formula of support to Iran’s opposition parties for regime change, but Iran is well aware of this strategy from the recent protests. If America and Israel do not stop, the war may last longer. China and Russia will come forward to help Iran.
