Israel strikes Hezbollah-stronghold Beirut in Lebanon as Iran-backed group avenges Khamenei’s killing

Israel launched strikes at Beirut’s southern suburbs on Monday, Lebanese state media reported. The strikes were launched after Hezbollah said it fired rockets and drones at Israel in response to the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“Beirut’s southern suburbs were targeted by a series of Israeli strikes,” the state-run National News Agency reported, as per AFP.

Several loud explosions were reportedly heard in Beirut.
