The war that started with Iran in the Middle East has reached its fourth day today. It all started with the joint strikes of America and Israel on 28 February 2026, when Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. Since then the situation has deteriorated rapidly. Iran launched retaliatory strikes, firing drones and missiles at US bases and embassies in Gulf countries. Israel increased attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The death toll in Iran has now reached above 742 and worldwide oil prices have crossed $150 per barrel.
Operation Epic Fury wreaks havoc in Machai Iran
Everything started suddenly. America and Israel launched ‘Operation Epic Fury’. Israeli F-35 and American B-2 bombers attacked Iran’s nuclear sites, ballistic missile bases and leadership targets. Khamenei’s house in Tehran was hit and Iranian media confirmed his death. About 200 people were killed in Iran on the first day, mostly military personnel. America said that this was to stop Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu later told Fox News that if not stopped now, Iran’s programs would have become ‘immune’ from attacks in a few months, meaning the underground bunkers would be so strong that no attack could work. Israel used GBU-28 bunker buster bombs, America fired Tomahawk cruise missiles. A total of more than 500 targets were hit. Iran did not give any major response on the first day, but the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) warned.
Strait of Hormuz closed and missile-drones attacks
Iran started taking revenge. IRGC fired ballistic missiles at US bases in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain. Drone attacks took place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (UAE). Saudi Arabia and Oman were also attacked. Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil passes. Brigadier General Sardar Ibrahim Jabari said that if any ship passes, they will burn it. On this day, there were 150 deaths due to American strikes in Iran, more than 50 in Gulf countries. 2 deaths among American soldiers. Trump posted on Truth Social that Democrats are only protesting because they are involved. Israel destroyed the IRGC’s communication center in Tehran, from where propaganda was carried out. Iran used Fateh-110 ballistic missiles and Shahed-136 drones. Qatar intercepted 63 out of 65 missiles.
Israel targeted Hezbollah positions
America announced that in the next 24 hours there will be major attacks on Iran’s missile production, drones and navy. Trump told CNN that the ‘Big One’ will come soon and hasn’t even hit ‘hard’ yet. Israel bombed Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV headquarters in Beirut, which is now broadcasting from another location. 52 killed, 154 injured in strikes in southern areas and Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Israel claimed to have killed PIJ’s Lebanon commander Abu Hamza Rami and Hezbollah’s intel head Hussein Makleh.
Iran attacked the US embassy in Riyadh with two drones, fire broke out but no deaths. There were attacks in Kuwait and Dubai also. America advised its citizens from 14 countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt etc.) to immediately evacuate.
2000 attacks on Iran in the first 30 hours
American and Israeli strikes are continuing in Tehran since this morning. More than 2000 targets have been hit. Israel destroyed more sites of IRIB (Iranian Broadcasting) in Tehran. In response, Iran fired drones at the American base in Erbil, Iraq, where two American soldiers were killed. Thousands of people are fleeing from southern villages in Lebanon, stuck in traffic, 20 more deaths occurred in Lebanon today.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi posted on X that America started a ‘war of choice’ on behalf of Israel, there was no Iranian threat. US House Speaker Mike Johnson said the attacks were ‘necessary for defense’, and would end soon. Trump said on the Riyadh attack that the response will come ‘very soon’, but will not send ground troops.
