Surya would like to take Dhoni’s legacy forward
The first edition of the T20 World Cup was played in 2007, in which Team India, captained by MS Dhoni, won. After this, the Men in Blue had to wait for a long time of 17 years to win the next title of the tournament. The Indian team won the second title in the 2024 T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
Now Suryakumar Yadav has a chance to become the third captain of India to win the T20 World Cup title. With this victory, Team India will become the team to win two consecutive T20 World Cup titles. Apart from this, it will also become the first team to win three T20 titles.
New Zealand has the first chance
While Team India is looking towards winning the third T20 World Cup title, the New Zealand team is hoping for its first T20 World Cup. New Zealand has reached the final of the tournament for the second time. Earlier, in the 2021 T20 World Cup also, New Zealand had secured a place in the finals, but they had to face defeat at the hands of Australia. Now it will be interesting to see how the Kiwi team performs in the final this time.
