This change will happen in the dislike button
According to the latest reports, YouTube wants to merge the Dislike and Not Interested buttons together. Now both these actions will work with the same button. This means that now even if you are not interested in any shorts, you will have to press the dislike button and even if you do not like the video, you will be able to dislike it by pressing the same button. On some users’ devices, this button may be shown with the Dislike label, while on others this note may appear with the Interesting label.
Now dislike button will not be visible directly on the screen
Along with its function, YouTube is also changing its position. Now instead of being visible with the like button, it is being hidden in the 3 dot menu. By pressing this, the algorithm will get a signal that the user does not like such content and it will start showing different types of content. Let us tell you that this is not the first time such a change is being made regarding shorts. YouTube had also previously tested the user interface of Shorts, where it had completely hidden the dislike button. YouTube says that some users are still unable to understand the function of the Note, Interested and Dislike buttons, so they are being merged to simplify the process.
