Jammu Kashmir Police: Why did DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma reach Bilwar, Samba and Kathua, action will be taken after the firing incident?

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Samba and Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma took stock of the ongoing operational preparations in Bilwar, Samba, Ramkot, Manwal areas of Kathua district. In view of the current security situation, he along with other senior police officers took stock of the ongoing operational preparations in Billawar in view of the firing incident in Soan area of ​​Billawar, Udhampur district and also visited Kamla Top Billawar in Kathua district.

During the investigation, Shiv Kumar stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security in the entire area. He directed all the officers to be extra alert in the area. He stressed the need for strong coordination between different security agencies to deal with any possible challenge in the future. He took stock of the deployment in the area and directed that additional forces should be deployed in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incident.

Intelligence gathering suggestion

Deputy Inspector General of Police Shiv Kumar Sharma also stressed the importance of gathering intelligence and sharing information timely to detect any security threat immediately. He also took stock of the ground duty performance of the soldiers and boosted their morale. Shiv Kumar Sharma took overall stock of the law and order situation and reviewed the preparedness of the police force in terms of manpower. He directed the officers to be more present in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that security checks and patrolling are intensified.

During this visit, SSP Kathua informed the DIG about the current security situation and steps taken to maintain peace and law and order in Bilwar of Kathua district. During the review, the officer also held a joint meeting with Army officials and assured them that Jammu and Kashmir Police is always with them to maintain peace in the region.
