The viral video purportedly shows Rao hugging and kissing different women in uniform in his office. Sources say that these scenes seem to have been secretly recorded inside the DGP office. In these, women are seen in different dresses on different occasions, with whom Rao is seen in an objectionable condition while on duty. However, there have been no allegations of coercion.
The matter reached Siddaramaiah
This controversy reached Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who sought information from the concerned department after the video went viral. According to sources, the Chief Minister was extremely angry after watching the video and had sought detailed information about how such an incident could happen within the police department. After this, now the accused officer has been suspended. The Siddaramaiah government of the state was under immense pressure due to this development.
What did Rao say on the allegations?
On the other hand, Rao has rejected the allegations and termed the video as fabricated. Speaking to India Today, the senior officer claimed that he was being deliberately targeted. He said that it has been a long time since I was in Belagavi 8 years ago. We have talked to our lawyer about this and we are taking action. This is shocking for us. This video is completely false. I don’t know whether something has happened or not, it cannot be revealed without investigation and it should be investigated.
