Amidst the ongoing discussions regarding leadership within the Congress, the statement of Lok Sabha MP Imran Masood has become the cause of new debate in political circles. Describing Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as a possible face for the post of Prime Minister, he compared her leadership with that of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. There has been a strong reaction on this from the BJP camp.
Delhi Haj Committee Chairperson Kausar Jahan, while talking to a news agency, made a direct attack on the Congress leadership. He said that whether it is Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi, the political status of both of them is no longer sufficient to even get limited seats in the states, leave alone the post of Prime Minister. Kausar Jahan sarcastically said that if anyone wants to dream of Mungerilal away from political reality, then he can do so. He also said that the people of the country have expressed confidence in Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister and there is no vacancy of any kind for this post for many years to come.
He further said that the statement of Imran Masood clearly shows that everything is not going well within the Congress and the Gandhi family. According to him, separate power centers have formed in the party and the family and the political direction of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi is not the same. Describing the current situation of Congress as serious, Kausar Jahan said that the Congress party is in a coma and is in dire need of political treatment.
Imran spoke openly in favor of Priyanka Gandhi
Congress MP Imran Masood, while responding to BJP’s allegations, had said that Priyanka Gandhi had earlier also been vocal on the issue of violence against minorities in Bangladesh. He claimed that Priyanka Gandhi has raised the clearest and strongest voice on such occasions. Masood said that if Priyanka Gandhi is made the prime ministerial candidate, she will be able to give a decisive answer like Indira Gandhi.

Imran Masood said in his statement that just as Indira Gandhi had created history by taking big decisions in the interest of the country, similarly Priyanka Gandhi also has the ability to give a befitting reply to the anti-India forces. He said that Priyanka Gandhi’s leadership will be such that those plotting against the country will not get a second chance.
Called Rahul and Priyanka as representatives of the same thinking.
Describing Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi as part of the same ideology, the Congress MP said that both should not be seen from different viewpoints. According to him, both are representatives of Indira Gandhi’s legacy and play complementary roles, not separate from each other.
