The streets of Hyderabad were filled with anger and sorrow on Sunday (1 March 2026) when a large number of people, led by AIMIM’s Nampally assembly constituency MLA Majid Hussain and MLC Riyaz ul Hasan Afandi, came out to protest against America and Israel. This demonstration was in protest against the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which occurred in joint air strikes by America and Israel. This attack is cowardly and inhuman, this voice kept echoing in the entire gathering.

The flames of the fire that broke out in West Asia were felt even in the streets of Hyderabad. Israel, in partnership with the US, carried out extensive air strikes on Iran, in which more than 500 targets were targeted. Israeli forces also targeted the bases of top officials as well as missile-launcher sites in Tehran and other major cities. Iranian state media confirmed Khamenei’s death in these attacks, and also reported the death of his daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law and daughter. This incident shook the entire Muslim world.

AIMIM MLA took part in the protest

In this protest held in Hyderabad, AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain and MLC Mirza Riaz ul Hasan Afandi expressed their views openly. Both leaders held the US and Israel directly responsible for the aggression and described Khamenei’s death as a political murder. The protesters raised slogans of Down with America and Down with Israel. A large number of people took part in the demonstrations in Hyderabad and raised slogans against Israel and American forces.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi condemned

AIMIM national president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also strongly condemned this attack. Owaisi said that this attack was carried out when peace talks were going on between Iran and America in Geneva, it is very cowardly and inhuman. He also warned that if this war continues, oil prices will increase, which will have a direct impact on the Indian economy.

Who was Ayatollah Khamenei?

Ayatollah Khamenei was the supreme leader of Iran since 1989 and led the country for 36 years. He was a consistent opponent of Western influence. There is a wave of mourning not only in Iran but in the entire Shia world due to his demise. Iran has declared 40 days of public mourning and vowed to retaliate against US targets and Israel. More than a political statement, this demonstration led by Majid Hussain and Riaz ul Hasan Afandi was an expression of the plight of millions of people who believe that war is not a solution to any problem but the beginning of a new catastrophe.
