Trump said that the US Army has carried out a major airstrike on Iran’s Kharg Island. He claimed that in this attack every military base on the island has been completely destroyed. Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, is considered the heart of Iran’s oil economy. This island is about 25 to 30 kilometers away from the coast of Iran and from here about 90 percent of Iran’s crude oil is sent to different countries of the world. Now Trump has also released the video of this attack.
Trump’s statement on social media
Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social late Friday night (US time) that the US Central Command has carried out one of the most powerful bombings in the history of the Middle East. He said that all the military bases on Kharg Island, called the “Crown Jewel” of Iran, have been completely destroyed.

Oil infrastructure has not been targeted yet
Trump wrote in his post that he has decided not to destroy the island’s oil-related infrastructure at this time. But he warned that if Iran or any other country creates any kind of obstruction in the safe movement of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, then he will immediately reconsider his decision. Trump also said that Iran does not have any power that can protect anything that America wants to attack.
Are preparations to capture Kharg Island?
Kharg island has been targeted for the first time in this war that has been going on for 14 days. Earlier, America and Israel had attacked many military bases, missile bases and nuclear facilities of Iran, but this island was not touched. This week, in a report by Axios, it was said that the Trump administration is considering a military plan regarding this island. The option of capturing Kharg Island was also said to be included in this.
Why is Kharg Island important for Iran?
The attack on Kharg Island comes at a time when the US Army has ordered to send 2500 additional troops and an amphibious assault ship to the Middle East. According to a recent report by JP Morgan, Kharg Island is very important for Iran’s economy. Experts say that if there is a direct attack here, a large part of Iran’s crude oil exports could stop immediately.
In fact, about 90 percent of Iran’s oil is loaded in ships from this island and sent to other countries. In such a situation, if the energy bases present here are targeted, then Iran’s huge income from oil can stop in one fell swoop.
Iran has already given warning
