The Modi government at the Center had told the Supreme Court in the year 2022 that till now no such punitive provisions have been issued for the national anthem. Vande Mataram, written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, emerged as the biggest slogan of independence during the Swadeshi movement (1905-08). The government is trying to establish it again at the same glorious place.
