Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, who were absconding after the massive fire in the nightclub in Arpora, Goa, have been brought back to India. As soon as his flight landed in Delhi, Goa Police was already present at the airport. The process of arresting both of them was started as soon as they got off the flight.
Luthra Brothers brought to Delhi from Thailand
The Luthra brothers were brought to Delhi from Thailand on 16 December 2026. He reached India by Indigo flight 6E-1064. Complete arrangements for security and legal process were made for his return.
Arrest at airport, first medical
According to sources, the Luthra brothers were taken into custody as soon as they disembarked from the flight. After their arrest, both will first undergo medical examination. After this he will be produced in Patiala Court of Delhi for transit remand.
Was taken into custody in Thailand on 11 December
The Luthra brothers were detained on December 11 from Hotel Indigo, Phuket, Thailand. After this, on December 12, he was brought from Phuket to Bangkok, from where the formal process of bringing him to India started. On December 11, on the initiative of Goa Police, the passports of the Luthra brothers were suspended. On the same day, his anticipatory bail plea was also rejected by the Rohini court and he did not get any relief.
Preparing to escape to Thailand during the fire
Investigation has revealed that when the fire broke out in the night club, the owners had made preparations to go to Thailand. According to Goa Police, the Luthra brothers had booked tickets to Phuket through a travel portal at 1:17 am on December 7. Goa Police had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against both the accused on December 8, so that they could not leave the country.
25 people were killed
It is noteworthy that a massive fire broke out in the nightclub ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ located in Arpora, Goa after midnight on 6th December. 25 people had died in this accident. Since the incident, investigation was going on regarding the role of Luthra brothers.
