‘Mahatma Gandhi resides in our hearts’, Shivraj Chauhan introduced G Ram G Bill in Lok Sabha to replace MNREGA

Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan introduced the Vikas Bharat-Ji Ramji (Vikas Bharat-Ji Ramji (Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)): Vikas Bharat-Ji Ramji Bill-2025 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Under this, a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment will be provided every year.

‘Our resolve is the welfare of the poor’
Shivraj Singh said in Parliament that our resolution is the welfare of the poor and we have tried to fulfill that resolution. Not only the welfare of the poor but also the overall development of the villages, which Mahatma Gandhi also used to say – creation of a complete village, a self-reliant village, a developed village. Its provision has been made in it and not only the provision, we have decided that the Central Government will spend more than Rs 95 thousand crore on this.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh said that many employment schemes came before this. The name of one scheme was Jawahar Rojgar Yojana. Later, when Congress itself changed the name of Jawahar Rojgar Yojana, was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru insulted?

Shivraj Singh said that many times there is unequal distribution of budget for the welfare of the poor, and many Panchayats lag behind in development, therefore, by gradation of Panchayats, a provision has also been made to give more work to the underdeveloped Panchayats and less developed Panchayats.

Mahatma Gandhi lives in our hearts

Shivraj Singh said that Mahatma Gandhi resides in our hearts and it was the resolve of Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Deendayal that the welfare of those who are at the back and at the bottom should be done first and we also believe in Mahatma Gandhi and based on his ideas, based on the ideas of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, this government is running many schemes for the welfare of the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Minister Chauhan said that as far as MNREGA is concerned, Congress and UPA had brought only MNREGA. The UPA government had spent Rs 2 lakh 13 thousand 220 crore on MNREGA, whereas we spent Rs 8 lakh 53 thousand 810 crore on poor welfare and have tried to further strengthen this scheme.

‘Naya will provide complete development of villages’
Shivraj Singh said that the new bill will provide complete development of villages. He said that when Sharad Pawar was the Union Agriculture Minister, he had said that laborers are not available for agricultural work. We have tried to solve that concern of theirs also. Shivraj Singh said that Bapu resides in our hearts, we respect him completely, and it was Bapu who used to say Ram Rajya. Ram resides in our every pore, and Ram resides in our every breath. This country is not known without Ram.

Shivraj Singh said that he has brought this bill so that every poor gets full employment, his dignity is respected, and the disabled, elderly, women and scheduled castes and tribes are given cocoa and protection. Will do complete development of the village and will work to establish balance between agriculture and labour. Shivraj Singh said that this entire bill is in accordance with the sentiments of Gandhiji and is for the establishment of Ram Rajya.
