‘Malamaal Weekly’ will return after 20 years, Paresh Rawal approves the sequel

In the year 2006, director Priyadarshan brought a different style of comedy. The film was ‘Malamal Weekly’, which was the story of a small village, where a lottery ticket becomes a cause of greed and laughter in the entire village. Neighbors start playing tricks on each other over an unclaimed ticket.

In this film, actors like late actor Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Ritesh Deshmukh made the audience laugh a lot with their excellent comic timing. Now after almost 20 years, preparations are being made to bring this underrated hit film on the big screen once again in the form of a sequel.

There will be a sequel of ‘Malamaal Weekly’
The superhit comedy film ‘Malamaal Weekly’ is now in the news once again. There is news that its sequel is going to be made. Although the official announcement has not been made yet, but veteran film actor Paresh Rawal has approved this news. Talking to Hindustan Times, he said, ‘Yes, this is true. I am doing this film. It will be really interesting to see that funny character of Leela Ram again on screen after almost 20 years.

Interestingly, in the year 2012, Priyadarshan had brought a film named ‘Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal’, which at that time was considered a reboot of ‘Malamaal Weekly’. In that film too, a group of experienced actors like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Om Puri and Nana Patekar were seen.

Story of ‘Malamal Weekly’
The story of this film revolves around the only educated man of a small village, who learns that a villager has won a lottery of Rs 1 crore, but has died suddenly. After this, a series of greed, cunningness and interesting conspiracies begins, in which the villagers try to hide the death from the lottery inspector and grab the prize money.

Paresh Rawal’s work front
Talking about Paresh Rawal’s work front, he is going to be seen in many big films in the coming time. These days he is also in the headlines for ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’, which is the sequel of his 2006 superhit film. However, this time a big change will be seen in the film. Now Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in place of Govinda in the upcoming part.

Soon Paresh Rawal will be seen sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar in director Priyadarshan’s film ‘Bhoot Bangla’. This film will be released on 10 April 2026 and its discussions have already started. Apart from this, Paresh Rawal will also be seen with Akshay Kumar in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Hera Pheri 3’, about which there is tremendous enthusiasm among the audience.
