‘Mamata, Stalin or someone else?…’ Who will take charge of the India alliance, what rift has happened?

Assembly elections are to be held in five states, from West Bengal to Assam. Even before this, voices of protest are being seen within the Congress. When senior Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Bora resigned from the party in Assam, Mani Shankar Aiyar and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s one-time media advisor Sanjay Baru advocated changing the leadership of the ‘India Alliance’. In the editorial published in Saamana, the mouthpiece of Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena, questions have been raised about the statements of these leaders and the performance of Congress after the Lok Sabha elections and leadership of the India Alliance.

‘Congress’s situation has become more difficult’

Samana wrote, “Mahatma Gandhi was the supreme leader of the Congress and also of the country. Gandhiji had a voice of conscience within him. He used to take decisions accordingly. There was a feeling of spirituality, patriotism and selflessness in it. Today, many similar inner voices are being heard in the Congress too, hence it seems that there is an uproar of inner voices. This situation is not good for the country. Assembly elections are going to be held in five states. Even before this, these inner voices The internal voices of Mani Shankar Aiyer, Bhupen Bora and others came forward at the wrong time. Due to this, the situation of Congress became more difficult.

Mention of Mani Shankar’s statement, question on Congress’s performance in Kerala

It was written in Saamna, assembly elections are near in the states of Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Meanwhile, Mani Shankar Aiyar’s inner voice came forward. Aiyar says, ‘It is difficult for Congress to win in Kerala. There is factionalism in Kerala Congress. Therefore, Pinarayi Vijayan of the Left Front will become the Chief Minister again. Iyer’s statement made Congress’s position even more uncomfortable that ‘Vijayan’s government came to power twice, but still public opinion is not against him.’ Priyanka Gandhi and K.C. Leaders like Venugopal were elected to the Lok Sabha from Kerala. Rahul Gandhi also became a Keralite in difficult times, but Congress could not win the assembly elections.

Mention of demand for change of leadership of India Block

In Saamna, the statements of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s one-time media advisor Sanjay Baru and Iyer were mentioned, in which they talked about changing the leadership of ‘India Alliance’. While proposing to hand over to Mamata Banerjee, Baru said, ‘Mamata Banerjee is more capable of leading the opposition parties. The way Mamata is fighting on many fronts, she has become stronger as a woman leader at the regional and national level. Baru has also written in the Telegraph article that ‘the communication and coordination that existed between Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi is not seen between Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.’ Of course, these are Baru’s views, but the Trinamool Congress has adopted this role and the voices within are saying, ‘Hand over the leadership of the ‘India Alliance’ to Mamata.’

Iyer demanded to hand over the command of India Block to Stalin

At the same time, Aiyar’s inner voice reemerged and demanded that the leadership of the ‘India Alliance’ be given to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, the editorial further said. Iyer believes, ‘Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister in the future. At such a time, the responsibility of strengthening the India block should be given to Stalin. No one has raised the issue of regional parties and their rights as strongly as Stalin. Whatever it may be, what is important is that the issue of change in leadership of the India alliance has arisen again.”

Questions on Congress’s performance and strategy

Saamana further said, what happened to ‘India Alliance’ after the Lok Sabha elections? This question must have arisen in the minds of many people, but has this question been raised in Congress? This is also an equally sensitive question. Congress will contest elections against Trinamool in West Bengal. Congress will contest elections against the Left in Kerala. In the Municipal Corporation of Maharashtra, Congress adopted an independent path due to minor reasons. BJP got benefit from this. In Assam, rebellion is visible in the inner voice of senior Congress leader Bhupen Bora. This is not a good sign. Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress contested elections together in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav created a good atmosphere. Yet they failed miserably. After being out of power for many years, workers and political parties become trapped and lose the desire to come to power. Even though Modi may not have got majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the government is running on crutches, the series of arbitrary and uncontrolled policies of this government is not over yet. The question is not only of the political scenario but also of the nation.

‘Mamata, Stalin or someone else? A decision has to be taken’

As soon as the elections are announced, the ‘India Block’ must be alert and discuss, but it would be wiser for everyone to sit together and take some decisions with more caution. Modi and others have given the public the cannabis of religion. For this reason the country has become a slave of President Trump. People would think that this is a blessing from God. In such a situation, who will decide what steps should be taken to remove the influence of religious cannabis from the eyes of the public? Anarchy in Parliament is different and anarchy in the country is different. The conscience of the public is awakening, this cannot be ignored. Mamata, Stalin or someone else? A decision will have to be taken on this!
