Pakistan has finally agreed to play a match with India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan took this decision after the meeting held in Lahore. What happened to the schedule?
The simple answer is, no. In fact, when the Pakistan government announced that its national cricket team will not play the match with India. After that, there was a lot of uproar over the boycott, but amidst all this controversy, the schedule of the World Cup remained the same, in which there was no change.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had also said that Team India will go to Colombo with the intention of playing the match with Pakistan as per the scheduled schedule and will be present in the field for the toss. He said that Team India will follow all the protocols, because they have not refused to play with Pakistan, but it is Pakistan that is doing so. Since the schedule was never changed, nothing has changed even after Pakistan’s decision.

India and Pakistan have started their respective T20 World Cup campaigns with wins. Team India defeated USA by 29 runs in its first match. On the other hand, Pakistan narrowly escaped defeat in its very first match. Pak team was successful in defeating Netherlands by 3 wickets by a very close margin.
