In the world of comedy, there are some artists who not only make people laugh, but also create a special place in people’s hearts. One of them is Sunil Grover, who has created a special identity with his excellent mimicry and different characters. These days, many stars in the industry are taking legal action regarding their ‘personality rights’ because their image, voice or style cannot be used without asking. Meanwhile, in an interview given to Hindustan Times, Sunil has openly expressed his opinion on copying celebrities and ‘personality rights’ matters.
‘It is not wrong to copy someone’
When Sunil Grover was asked in the interview whether he was afraid that a case might be filed against him too? On this he said that until a case comes against him, he does not think much about it. For them, copying someone is not a joke, but a kind of respect. He believes that when an artist copies a big star, he is celebrating his popularity. If someone misuses someone’s image, it is wrong. But replicating someone’s style on stage or in a show is like saluting them.
Sunil won hearts by imitating Aamir Khan
Sunil further clarified that he does not support joking about personal life. There is a limit to everything and dignity should be maintained while copying any artist. Let us tell you, Sunil Grover has been an important part of the comedy shows ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ for a long time. Till now he has won everyone’s hearts with characters like Gutthi, Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi. Recently he did a mimicry of Aamir Khan, which was liked very much by the audience. Even at the screening of the film ‘Happy Patel’, photographers jokingly called him ‘the real Aamir’.
