Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, in his recent statement, spoke openly on many important issues like organization, society, language, employment, conversion, population, infiltration and national unity. He clearly said that no post in the Sangh is given on the basis of caste, class or region, rather the person who works and is qualified, takes up the responsibility.
Mohan Bhagwat said that there is no rule that the Sarsanghchalak of the Sangh should be from SC, ST, Brahmin or any special class. The one who is a Hindu, who works and who is most suitable, will become the Sarsanghchalak. He said that he himself was free, hence he was given this responsibility. There is no standard in caste or class association.
The Sangh runs on values, not on propaganda.
Sarsanghchalak said that the job of the Sangh is not to propagate but to impart values. According to him, promoting a person brings fame and fame creates ego, which is harmful. Therefore the Sangh promotes the work and not the person. For this reason the Sangh often lags behind in publicity matters.
Emphasis on mother tongue, English will not work in Sangh
Mohan Bhagwat clearly said about the mother tongue that English should be learned, so good that even the British buy tickets to listen to your language, but one should never leave one’s mother tongue. He said that English will not be used in the Sangh, only the mother tongue will be used there.
75 years of age and determination to serve
He told that he has completed 75 years and he himself had expressed his desire to retire, but the Sangh workers said that as long as he has the capacity to work, he should continue serving. Mohan Bhagwat said that he can retire from the post, but not from work. It is the Sangh’s tradition to work till the last drop of blood.
Perspective of Muslim Society and Sangh
Speaking on Sangh’s relations with the Muslim community, Mohan Bhagwat said that just as we do not break teeth if our tongue comes between our teeth, similarly the Muslim community is also a part of our society. He said that the volunteers go among the Muslim community and do service work and they are not considered different.
Population, Family and Social Balance
On the question of population, he said that if there are three brothers and sisters in the family, then people learn to live with each other and maintain balance since childhood. He said that upbringing of children is more important than the number of children and for this the society has many solutions.
Clear opinion on conversion and homecoming
On conversion, Mohan Bhagwat said that it is a person’s personal right to choose God, but it is wrong to convert by force or by luring. He said that in such cases homecoming is a solution and those who want to come back should be accepted.
Infiltration, SIR and employment issue
He said that it is the responsibility of the government to stop infiltration. There should be detection and then deportation. Processes like SIR and population counting will come, which cannot be stopped, but will have to be adopted wisely. Employment should be provided to the citizens of the country, whether Hindu or Muslim, but not to foreign infiltrators.
Considerations on employment, production and economy
Mohan Bhagwat said that to increase employment in the country, human technology will have to be promoted. Such an economy will have to be created where the empty hands get work. Also, quality production should increase, so that Indian products can reach foreign countries.
Reservation, caste and social harmony
On reservation, he said that the Sangh supports all reservations as per the Constitution. Caste discrimination should end. It is the responsibility of the society to bring up the class which is still lagging behind. The people sitting above will have to bow down and the people sitting below will have to lead them forward by holding hands. Only with goodwill can society move forward.
Politics, vote and social wisdom
Mohan Bhagwat said that politicians are not casteists but voteists. The society will have to act wisely so that votes do not wander here and there and harm the social fabric.
Social media and social responsibility
He said that in the era of social media, it is the responsibility of every person to be cautious in mind, words and deeds. Forced linking of caste and karma is done only for the sake of politics. If an idea is no longer relevant, it should be left in peace, so that society does not suffer harm.
