Recently, in an interview given on the Star’s Journey YouTube channel, Mumtaz spoke openly about marriage with a Hindu man, interfaith marriage, polygamy and spiritual beliefs.
Mumtaz talked about her favorite God
Talking about her faith, Mumtaz said, ‘My favorite gods are Shankar ji and Krishna ji. Despite being a Muslim, I have deep faith in him. Talking about her routine, Mumtaz said, ‘Whenever I come down the stairs of the house, there is an idol of Lord Ganesha, who is my favourite, and I pay obeisance at his feet.’
Talking about this, Mumtaz further said, ‘I also believe in Shankar ji. Since childhood, I like beautiful people and I think he is the most beautiful God. That’s why I love him. These are two gods in whom I especially believe.
How do Muslims become better than Hindus?
It is known that Mumtaz is married to Ugandan businessman Mayur Madhwani, who belongs to a Hindu family. Talking on interfaith marriage, Mumtaz said, ‘I believe in both religions. I married a Hindu and my sister also married a Hindu. We both are very happy. My husband takes great care of me.
Talking further about this, the actress said, ‘Many men among Muslims marry three-four times and then leave their wives, how does this make Muslims better than Hindus?’
Mumtaz further said, ‘A man should not have 3-4 marriages in the first place, I am a Muslim myself and I say it is wrong, keeping one wife, then marrying another and then the third..’
Mumtaz did not stop here, talking about this she said, ‘How is it right to leave one person and marry another? Is this not a sin? Hindus are better in this matter, they usually have only one marriage. Sometimes they may marry twice, but it is not that they easily leave one person and go to another, this is wrong.
