A shocking incident of attack on a doctor has come to light from Mysuru, Karnataka. Dr. Anoop, who runs a children’s clinic in Udayagiri area, was allegedly attacked by the family members of the patient. This incident happened when a man named Sharif had reached the clinic to show his child.
According to the information, Dr. Anoop asked Sharif to take off his slippers before entering the clinic. There was an argument between the two regarding this matter. Sharif alleged that the doctors themselves were sitting in the clinic wearing slippers and lecturing others on the rules. On this, Dr. Anoop clarified that the slippers he is using are only for use inside the clinic and slippers from outside are not allowed inside for the purpose of maintaining cleanliness.
Dr. Anoop was pushed down the stairs
As the argument escalated, Dr. Anoop took Sharif and his father out of the clinic to show them the slippers that were used outside. During this time again a dispute broke out and it is alleged that Sharif pushed Dr. Anoop from the stairs. Fortunately, the doctor did not suffer serious injuries, but after this Sharif and his father allegedly beat him up. After the incident, a case has been registered at Udayagiri police station on the complaint of the doctor. However, till the time of writing the news, the accused have not been arrested. The police is investigating the matter.
Attack on health worker is a social crime.
In India, attacking a doctor or any health worker is not only a social crime, but is also considered a very serious punishable offense in the eyes of law. Strict provisions have been made in Indian law regarding the safety of doctors who save the lives of patients. If a doctor is murdered or attacked with intent to kill, the culprits can be given the harshest punishment.
