A shocking incident has come to light in Jubilee Hills, a posh area of Hyderabad. A Nepali couple working in the house of businessman Aniruddha Reddy, resident of Road No. 25, Jubilee Hills, escaped after stealing diamonds, jewels and precious watches worth about Rs 2 crore.
The accused have been identified as 32-year-old Mahesh Sahi and his wife Apsara Sahi. Mahesh was assigned the task of gardening and Apsara was assigned the task of sweeping. This Nepali couple had taken a job in the house about 45 days ago and during this time they kept performing their duties well to win the trust of their owners.
How was the matter revealed?
The incident took place on the night when Aniruddha Reddy and his wife had gone on a business trip to Ooty. As soon as they got the opportunity, the Nepali couple broke the shelves of the house with the help of pre-prepared cutters, knives and iron rods. They escaped after taking out about 10 diamond necklaces and about 10 expensive Rolex watches from the safe. The robbery came to light when Anirudh and his wife returned home on Sunday morning and found the servants missing and the cupboard lying open.
On the complaint of Aniruddha Reddy, Jubilee Hills Police has registered a case and started investigation. CCTV footage is being scrutinized closely and information about the accused has also been sent to police stations on the outskirts of the city.
Incidents have happened before too
This incident is not alone, this is becoming a long series of Nepali gang in Jubilee Hills. On February 5, 2026, a Nepali gang entered the Nandagiri Hills area of Jubilee Hills through a house servant and stole gold and diamond jewelery worth ₹ 1.3 crore. According to the police, the functioning of this gang is based on a fixed strategy. First, enter a member of the rich house as a servant, collect information about valuables and security arrangements, then commit the crime at the right moment.
In that case, the police had caught the fleeing accused on the India-Nepal border. In the present case also the police has intensified the investigation. At present the accused are absconding and several police teams are busy nabbing them.
