The series of new features continues for WhatsApp users. In this series, the company is bringing a new formatting feature, which can hide some part of the text written inside the message. Right now the company has started preparing for this feature and it has not been rolled out even for beta users. Nevertheless, some information related to this has come to light. It has also been known how this feature will work.
How will the new feature work?
According to reports, this formatting feature will be named Spoiler. It will be placed along with the formatting tools already available for messages like bold, italic and strikethrough. When the user marks any text and selects this option, the selected text will be hidden behind a gray bar. The user will have to tap on the hidden section to read it. This feature will be very useful to surprise someone or to make the message interesting and catchy. To use this feature, a syntax shortcut can also be given, i.e. the user can type ‘||text||’ You can also select this format by typing.
When can the rollout take place?
If reports are to be believed, the Spoiler feature will initially be available only for text messages. There is no information yet about its availability for images and other messages. Work on this feature has just started and till the launch, images and voice messages etc. can also be added to it. However, its launch date has not been revealed. WhatsApp first tests any new feature on the beta version and then it is rolled out for the public. This process takes a few months. In such a situation, the new feature can be rolled out in the next few months.
