Amit Shah’s speech during the debate on the no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has raised the political temperature. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has hit back at Amit Shah for targeting Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi took aim, know what she said
Congress MP Priyanka Vadra has said on Amit Shah’s speech that the no-confidence motion was not on Rahul Gandhi but on the Speaker. He should have spoken on that topic. He uses abusive language. The speakers don’t even stop them. Today he has used abusive words in the House.
What has Home Minister Amit Shah said?
During his speech, Amit Shah gave information about Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary record in Parliament. He said that Rahul Gandhi’s attendance in the 17th Lok Sabha was 51 percent. It was 52 percent in the 16th Lok Sabha and 43 percent in the 15th Lok Sabha. Neither took part in the discussion on the President’s address nor in the discussion on the budget in the 16th Lok Sabha. As soon as he counted these figures, Congress MPs started creating ruckus.
Rahul-Shah often goes abroad during budget sessions
Amit Shah attacked Gandhi and said that he often goes abroad during budget sessions. Now the man who is in Germany, England or Singapore. How will he speak here? There is no provision for video conferencing here.
The Home Minister further said that one has to speak as per rules in the House. In the House it has to be done only through the speaker. The rules are same for everyone. If we have come here to speak on the no-confidence motion, we will not speak on Maoists.
Amit Shah said to Rahul – You should also talk about your conduct – Shah
Regarding Rahul Gandhi, he said that you have made allegations against the Speaker, at least talk about your conduct. The Prime Minister is sitting and someone comes running and hugs him, this has never happened. Will you ever do a flying kiss or wink, this never happened. You are raising questions on the conduct of the speaker. How do they talk about conduct? The opposition created a huge uproar over Amit Shah’s statement. Amit Shah said that if there is any word which is unparliamentary, it can be removed from the proceedings.
