Notification issued for Census 2027, houses will be counted in the first phase, know complete details

The Central Government has issued the notification of Census 2027. This notification issued on Thursday contains a list of 33 questions. There are questions related to house, family, vehicle. During the census, the senior most member of the family will have to give this information. The census will be completed in two phases. In this, the first phase will start between April to September 2026. The second phase will start in February 2027. In the first phase, the list of houses and data related to it will be added. The population will be counted in the second phase.

What will be done in the first and second phases?

The Government of India has released the questionnaire for house listing and house counting in the first phase of the census to be held in 2027. In this, details of every house, building and institution will be recorded. Whether the house is pucca or kutcha, whether there are facilities like water-electricity-toilet or not, whether the building is residential or commercial, these information will be noted. The questionnaire for the second phase i.e. population census will be released later. Information like age, gender, education, employment, language, religion will be recorded in it.

Census was to be held in the year 2021, but will be completed in 2027

Earlier, the Union Home Ministry had said on January 8 that the first phase of the census to be held in the country in 2027 will be conducted between April 1 and September 30. States and Union Territories will complete this work in 30 days. Apart from this, the government has said that people will also be given a chance to fill the information themselves 15 days before the start of the list of houses. It was said by the ministry that it was postponed due to the Corona epidemic. It was to be completed in 2021. But now it will be completed in 2027.

Census will be paperless, data will be digitalized
The government has informed that the census will be completely digital. 30 lakh employees will collect information about the mobile app. Census will be paperless through mobile app, portal and real time data transfer. The app will be available on both Android and IOS operating systems.

Caste census will be included for the first time

Caste related data will also be collected digitally. For the first time after independence, caste counting will be included in the census. Caste based census was conducted in 1931. This decision was taken in the Cabinet Committee under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister himself. According to 2011 census, India’s population was 121 crores. Of these, 51.5% were men and 48.5% were women.
