According to the report, these new options have been included in Android beta version 2.26.6.1 of WhatsApp. Currently, these features are limited only to developers and selected testers, but work on them is going on rapidly. If everything goes well, then in future updates, users can get a completely new and different experience by leaving the traditional green look of WhatsApp.
Option of 14 new app icons
The biggest change can be seen in the app icon. The report suggests that WhatsApp may introduce 14 new icon styles. Some of these will be in simple single-color designs like blue, brown, green, monochrome, orange, pink and purple. Some icons will come with a more stylish look whose names are said to be Aurora, Fluffy, Galaxy, Clay, Sparkle and Neon.
With the help of these options, users will be able to change the look of WhatsApp on their home screen and app drawer and this will not require any third-party launcher.
There will be a chance to change the colors of the app also
Not just the icon, WhatsApp can also allow you to change the main color of the app. According to the report, around 19 different color options can be found. These may include colors like royal blue, violet, coral, teal, brown, beige, yellow, pink, red, orange and dark olive green. Apart from the default green color, a classic design may also return which will give an experience like the old WhatsApp. These colors will be visible on different parts of the app like tabs, filters and floating buttons, giving the entire interface a uniform theme.
When will we get this update?
At present there has been no official announcement from the company. Since the features are still in the testing phase, it may take some time to arrive. But if these changes are rolled out then the WhatsApp experience will become more personal and attractive than before.
