Shahid Kapoor is finally making a comeback on the big screen with his first release of 2026, O’Romeo. After surprising fans with his performance as ACP Dev Ambre in Deva last year, Shahid is now all set to rock with the much awaited ‘O’Romeo’ this Friday, 13th February.
This film, which is being called an action thriller, has been directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and it also stars Trupti Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwari, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Vikrant Massey. There has already been a lot of buzz about the film and a lot of advance booking is also being done for it. Meanwhile, the first review of ‘O’Romeo’ has also arrived. Do you know how this film is?
O’Romeo’s first review out
Actor turned critic Kuldeep Gadhvi has shared the first review of Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo. He wrote in his post on
In a detailed review, Kuldeep wrote, “O’Romeo is a bold and powerful romantic action thriller that blends unrequited passion with intense crime drama.” He also stressed that the film, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwal, shows raw emotion, scale and intensity. Gadhvi also praised Shahid’s aggressive and fearless performance, calling it the most important moment of his career.
Also, he said that Trupti gave emotional depth to the story and overall, increased the appeal of the film. He gave O’Romeo four stars out of five. Kuldeep Gadhvi described the Shahid starrer as a “baap level film, a complete mass + class cinematic experience”.

Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai was the inspiration for O’Romeo. Let us tell you that after Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon, this is Shahid’s fourth collaboration with Vishal Bhardwaj in this film. In fact, fans are very excited about the reunion of the director and actor after nine years apart.
