Indigo Airlines on Wednesday (February 4, 2026) announced major changes in the schedule of its long-haul international flights. The airline has said that due to operational problems, Indigo has decided to reduce flights on some routes. Under this decision, flights between Copenhagen and Denmark are being temporarily stopped.
Many airspaces affected due to geopolitical situation
According to Indigo, due to the changing geopolitical situation, many airspaces are being closed or limited again and again. Apart from this, there is huge crowd at airports in India and abroad. Due to all these reasons the flight time has increased. Due to which the pressure on the operation of Indigo Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 aircraft has increased. At present, Indigo Airlines has only 6 wide-body aircraft from which these long-haul flights are being operated.
Which routes of Indigo airline will be affected?
The decision taken by the airline will affect the flights flying from Delhi to Copenhagen. IndiGo has suspended its flights on this route from February 17, 2026 until further notice.
In this series, flights from India’s capital Delhi to England’s city Manchester will also be affected. According to the airline, from Saturday (February 7, 2026) only 4 flights will fly on this route instead of 5 in a week. At the same time, after the month of February, it will be further reduced to only 3 flights a week.
Whereas, from Monday next week (February 9, 2026), only 4 flights will depart instead of 5 flights from Delhi to London’s Heathrow Airport.
These changes were to be implemented in the summer schedule 2026
IndiGo said that these changes were initially to be implemented in the summer schedule 2026, but they are being implemented earlier to provide better and reliable service to the passengers. The airline says that passengers were facing problems due to flight delays, missing connecting flights and frequent schedule disruptions.
