After creating AI chatbot ChatGPT and Atlas browser, OpenAI is now going to do another wonders. Reports say that the company is developing a new social media platform. The company is working on a social network concept in which the emphasis will be on conversations between real and verified users and there will be no room for bots and automated accounts.
Work on the project has just started
This project is still in the initial stage and a small team of the company is working on it. Till now neither its launching timeline has been revealed nor anything has been said about it from the company side. The company wants to keep this platform away from fake profiles, spam activity and AI-generated engagement, which have become a big problem on other social media platforms these days.
How will it be different from other platforms?
This platform of OpenAI will be different from the rest in terms of authentication. It will not use traditional methods like phone number and email address for sign up. The company may use biometrics checks such as facial recognition at sign up to ensure that each account is linked to a real person and is not being used by a bot. However, privacy related concerns are also being raised regarding this. Biometric data is considered very sensitive and experts have warned that the consequences can be serious if such data is leaked.
There will be no ban on sharing AI content
It is being said that there will be no ban on sharing AI content on OpenAI’s social media platforms. Users will be able to share AI generated photos and videos on it. In future, if this platform moves towards launching, then it can give tough competition to other platforms including Instagram and TikTok.
