Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi says that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has established a new normal. This operation demonstrated the Indian Army’s capability of quick reaction, better coordination and precise action. It presents a picture of a mature, confident and responsible force, which is fully capable of protecting national interests. The Army Chief said these things in a program organized in Jaipur on the occasion of Army Day.
He said, ‘There has been a clear change in the thinking of the Indian Army in the last few years. We are working seriously not only on current challenges but also on preparing for future wars. In this direction, new structures are being created, which are being equipped and trained as per the requirements of the future. Under this transformation process, new units like Bhairav ​​Battalion, Ashani Platoon, Shaktiban Regiment and Divyastra Battery have been raised. These structures reflect the creation of an agile, ready and mission-focused army to meet the challenges of the future.
The Army Chief said, ‘The cornerstone of our transformation is self-reliance. You might have got a glimpse of this through the ‘Made in India’ equipment during the parade. In future also, the Indian Army needs such weapon systems and equipment, which are designed and developed in India only. Swadeshi has now become not just a goal but a strategic necessity. We are also placing special emphasis on dual-use resources, resources that are useful for both military and civilian purposes. The infrastructure, technology and innovation that is developed for the army should also contribute to the overall development of the country.
The Army Chief said that he extends hearty greetings to all the soldiers of the Indian Army, our civilian employees, ex-servicemen, brave women and their families on Army Day. On this auspicious occasion, we pay our respects to those brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the country. He wholeheartedly thanked the Rajasthan government and the citizens of Jaipur.
According to the Army Chief, organizing Army Day in Jaipur is an effort to bring the army closer to the citizens. The Army Chief says that the Indian Army is moving forward as a future-ready force, where there are well-trained soldiers, modern systems and the capability of multi-domain operations. Technology is not being used to replace the soldiers, but to make them more capable. Building on the progress made so far, the next two years have been declared the year of networking and data-centricity. It aims to transform the Indian Army into a data-driven, network-enabled and fully integrated force with all stakeholders.
A beautiful confluence of tradition and transformation was seen in the Army Day parade held in Jaipur. The Nepal Army Band reflected our old and strong ties, while the participation of new units demonstrated the growing strength of the Army.
