The opposition is preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Sources have informed that a meeting of opposition leaders has been held with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He says that if the opposition is not allowed to speak in Parliament then they will bring a no-confidence motion.
The opposition says that Rahul Gandhi wanted to speak on the suspension of MPs in the Lok Sabha and the allegations against women MPs. Rahul Gandhi was asking for permission to speak. After the uproar by the opposition in the Lok Sabha on Monday (February 9, 2026) morning, the Parliament was adjourned till 12 noon.
Opposition MPs have also demanded action against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Demanding action, Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi said that Himanta Biswa Sarma, being a Chief Minister, makes such videos and Assam BJP posts them and later that post gets deleted. The Prime Minister, Home Minister and National President of BJP should take action against him.
