Pakistan declared ceasefire for 5 days, will not attack Afghanistan till Eid, why was this decision taken?

A big update has come out regarding the ongoing war between Afghanistan and Pakistan. A temporary ceasefire has been announced by both the countries. The reason behind this is said to be the festival of Eid.

Pak-Afghanistan ready for ceasefire

According to the information, after the request of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Qatar, Pakistan has agreed for temporary ceasefire. Pakistan has decided to stop the conflict with Afghanistan for the next 5 days. From midnight of 18-19 March to midnight of 23-24 March, Pakistan will not attack Afghanistan or TTP positions due to Eid.

However, Pakistan has also said that if there is any drone attack or other attack in the meantime, then it will start attacking Afghanistan and TTP again.

Afghanistan ready for temporary ceasefire

Afghanistan has also announced a temporary ceasefire with Pakistan due to Eid. Afghanistan government spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid posted on social media platform X that there will be a ceasefire with Pakistan till Eid at the behest of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Türkiye. However, if Pakistan attacks in the meantime, a response will be given.

Afghanistan expressed gratitude for the efforts of the mediating countries. Government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in his post, “The mediator expresses gratitude for the good intentions of the friendly mediating states in Afghanistan, while also reaffirming that safeguarding the national security and sovereignty of Afghanistan and safeguarding the lives of the Afghan people are among its national and legitimate duties, and in the event of any threat, it will boldly respond to any aggression.”

More than 400 died in Pakistani attack

According to Taliban officials and local media, more than 400 people were killed and at least 250 were injured in a Pakistani airstrike on a large de-addiction hospital in Kabul on March 16. According to Taliban government officials, this attack was carried out at around 9 pm targeting the 2,000-bed Umeed Nasha Mukti Hospital in Kabul. According to Khaama Press, officials described this attack as one of the most dangerous attacks in Kabul in recent years.
