Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and French Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin chaired the India-France Defense Dialogue in New Delhi. Security issues discussed between defense ministers of both countries

Both the leaders also discussed priority areas for joint development and increasing production. Emphasis was also laid on strengthening partnership in the defense sector and bringing together the industries of both the countries in new and special technology areas. On this occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the security and defense partnership under the recently signed FTA between India and the European Union is a very important step towards deepening mutual cooperation. Apart from this, it has been announced that both the countries will deploy each other’s officers at the headquarters of their armies. The Defense Minister said that India has always played the role of first responder and net security provider for the countries of the Indian Ocean Region.
