Pakistan has defeated USA by 32 runs. This is Pakistan’s second consecutive victory in the 2026 T20 World Cup. In this match played in Colombo, Pakistan team batted first and scored 190 runs. In response, the USA team could score only 158 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan played the match-winning inning of 73 runs for Pakistan. Pakistan has also avenged the defeat of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
In this match, USA won the toss and chose to bowl first. When Pakistan team came to bat, Sahibzada Farhan played an explosive inning of 73 runs in 41 balls. Whereas Babar Azam had played an inning of 46 runs in 32 balls. In the last overs, Shadab Khan also played a quick innings of 30 runs in 12 balls. USA bowlers had taken 5 wickets in the last 2 overs.
Pakistan took revenge
That was the date of June 6, 2024, when the Pakistan cricket team had to suffer a major setback. The USA team created a sensation in the whole world by defeating the Pakistan team in a match that lasted till the Super Over. Taking revenge of the defeat two years ago, Pakistan has now defeated USA by 32 runs.
Shubham Ranjane kept fighting for USA till the end, who played an inning of 51 runs in 30 balls. Shayan Jahangir also played a strong inning of 49 runs, but could not take Pakistan to victory. This is USA’s second consecutive defeat, due to which their hopes of going to Super-8 have now diminished.
Usman Tariq wreaked havoc on the USA batting line-up, whose strange action remained the center of discussion. He took 3 wickets for only 27 runs in 4 overs. In the 19th over of the innings, he also took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls, but missed completing the hat-trick.
