Poor performance in the World Cup
On one hand, Sahibzada Farhan is scoring fifty for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, but his partner Sam Ayub has been a flop. Till now Ayub has been able to score only 70 runs in 5 innings in the current T20 World Cup and the average is only 14. Due to this poor performance, questions are being raised on the decision of giving him a place in the World Cup team.
Last year was also not good for Sam Ayub. He had scored 581 runs in international T20 cricket in the year 2025, but his average was only 20.75. One of the main reasons for Ayub’s continued presence in the team despite his poor batting form is his bowling. Ayub keeps the option of spin bowling open in the Pakistan team.
