Panic in Hyderabad Criminal Court, bomb threat for the fifth time in two months

Today once again the threat of a bomb blast created panic in the Criminal Court complex located in Nampally, Hyderabad, after which the Bomb Squad and the police force have started investigating the entire complex including the NIA Court. This incident is the second one this month and the fifth in the last two months, due to which serious questions have been raised regarding the security arrangements in the court premises and there is an atmosphere of panic among the common people including lawyers.

Police alert, investigation lasted for hours
As soon as the information was received, the police administration immediately alerted and every corner of the court premises was blocked. According to sources present at the spot, the bomb squad investigated the NIA court and other court rooms and public places for hours, although no suspicious object has been confirmed yet. As soon as this news came, there was panic among the lawyers, employees working in the court premises and people coming for cases. These continuous incidents have not only affected the functioning of the court, but have also created fear regarding security in the minds of those working here.

Constant threats are being received, challenge for security agencies
This matter is not just a common threat, but there is a continuously increasing trend behind it. This is the fifth time in the last two months that a bomb threat has been issued to the Nampally Court. Repeated incidents of such incidents have become a challenge for the security agencies in the NIA court where sensitive cases are heard. In all the previous cases the threats were proved to be false, but the police have to be alert every time. Officials believe that this could be the work of some mischievous element or a mentally unbalanced person, but no risk can be ignored.

Demand to increase security
In view of the current situation, the court lawyers’ association and other officials have appealed to the City Police Commissioner to personally come to the spot and inspect the security arrangements. Their demand is that every person entering the court premises should be thoroughly checked and CCTV surveillance should be further strengthened. Currently, the police is investigating the matter in depth and is busy in arresting the accused, so that such incidents can be prevented in future and the dignity of the justice system is maintained.
