A case of alleged objectionable comments regarding Lord Shri Ram, Lord Shri Krishna and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi has come to light in the border district of Bidar in Karnataka. A wave of anger has spread in the entire district regarding this.
After the video related to the case went viral on social media, hundreds of citizens gathered in front of Mehkar police station in Bidar district adjacent to the Maharashtra-Karnataka border and demanded immediate strict action against the accused. In Bhalki, leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have protested and demanded the arrest of the accused.

Some youths, including Kalidas Suryavanshi, Rahul Khandare and Kapil Godbole of Attarga village in Hulsoor taluka, are accused of allegedly making objectionable remarks about gods and goddesses in the form of poetry during a train journey. After this video went viral on social media, strong reactions were seen in Mehkar, Saigaon and Alwai areas. A demonstration was held in front of Mehkar police station under the leadership of Hindu organizations.

A complaint has been lodged in this matter at Mehkar police station. Police have registered the case and started investigation and some suspects are being detained and interrogated. In Bhalki, workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal lodged a protest and said that a case should be registered under relevant sections for spreading hatred and strict action should be taken against the accused.
Warning from Hindu organizations
Hindu organizations have warned that if immediate action is not taken, a violent movement will be launched in the entire district. Due to allegations of hurting religious sentiments, there is a tense situation in the border areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka including Bidar district and all eyes are fixed on this matter.
