The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken major action in the famous Popular Front of India (PFI) criminal conspiracy case of Bihar. NIA has filed a charge sheet against two more accused in this case in the special court located in Patna, the capital of Bihar.
This case was registered in the year 2022, in which the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI) is accused of conspiring to disturb peace and religious harmony in the country.
The total number of people arrested and accused in the case increased
After the supplementary charge sheet filed by NIA in the special court of Patna, the total number of persons arrested and accused in this case has now increased to 20.
According to the investigating agency, the then state president of PFI in Bihar, Mehboob Alam alias Mehboob Alam Nadvi and Vice President Shamim Akhtar were actively involved in this conspiracy. Both of them have been charged under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (IPC) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
What was revealed in the agency’s investigation?
NIA’s investigation has revealed that this conspiracy was hatched to create an atmosphere of fear in the country, spread religious disharmony and promote the ideology of the organization. According to the investigation, in an internal document of PFI ‘India 2047 Towards Rule of Islam in India’, it was talked about establishing Islamic rule in India.
The investigation also revealed that recruitment and training of PFI cadres was being done in Bihar by the accused. Meetings and training programs were organized at Ahmed Palace located in Phulwarisharif area of ​​Patna, from where the police also recovered the vision document of the organization. Initially this case was being investigated by Bihar Police, but in July 2022, the National Investigation Agency took this case into its hands. At present investigation and action is going on in this matter.
