Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) today Friday (January 23, 2026) appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning in the phone tapping case. KT The atmosphere became tense as Rama Rao reached the Jubilee Hills Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office at 11 am, where party workers protested fiercely and the police had to struggle hard to control the crowd.
According to the summons issued by the SIT, the evidence revealed in the investigation has indicated that the former minister was aware of many important facts and circumstances of the case, due to which he was asked to appear.

In fact, this appearance is taking place at a time when former Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has also presented his side before the SIT in the same case this week. The scene outside the police station was worth seeing. A huge crowd of BRS workers and representatives protested by raising slogans. In view of the security arrangements, the police had deployed heavy force in the area, yet they had to work hard to control the enthusiastic workers.
Possibility of many sensational revelations
If we look at the background of this case, the Telangana government has appointed Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. to speed up the investigation, almost 21 months after the case was registered. A 10-member SIT has been formed under the chairmanship of Sajjanar. This case pertains to serious allegations that phones were illegally tapped using the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) to gain political advantage for BRS.
Now the investigation is reaching its final stage and the interrogation of high level leaders is expected to reveal many new revelations in this politically sensational case.
