Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train on January 17. This train will run between Howrah to Guwahati (Kamakhya) and its regular service will start from January 18. It will become a new option for fast, safe and comfortable travel for long distance travelers.
Vande Bharat sleeper train is equipped with facilities
Vande Bharat Sleeper train will run daily between Howrah and Kamakhya. In this, AC First Class, AC Second Class and AC Third Class coaches along with sleepers have been installed, so that the passengers can get the facilities as per their need.

Interior inspired by Indian culture
The interior design of this train has been prepared keeping in mind the Indian culture. Inside the coach, better lighting and comfortable layout has been provided with modern facilities, so that the passengers get convenience even in long journeys.
Advanced systems for security
Giving priority to the safety of passengers, ‘Kavach’ automatic train protection system has been installed in the train. Apart from this, emergency talk-back unit, modern control system in the driver’s cabin and better monitoring system have also been provided.
New technology for cleanliness
Special disinfectant technology has been used to maintain cleanliness in the train. This will maintain a clean and safe environment inside the coach. The external design of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is such that it can move at high speed while cutting through the air with less obstruction. Its doors are automatic, which open and close on their own as per the need.
Green flag shown in Malda
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Malda in West Bengal at around 12:45 pm on January 17. Here he flagged off the Howrah-Guwahati Vande Bharat Sleeper train from Malda Town Railway Station.
Will launch a big project in Assam
On January 18, Prime Minister Modi will reach Kaliabor in Nagaon district of Assam. Here he will perform the bhoomi pujan of the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project costing about Rs 6,950 crore. The 86 km long Kaziranga Elevated Corridor is an environment-sensitive National Highway project. In this, a 35 kilometer elevated wildlife corridor will pass through Kaziranga National Park. Apart from this, 21 kilometer bypass and the existing part of NH-715 will be expanded from two lanes to four lanes.
