PM Modi On Army Day:

Today, on January 15, Army Day is being celebrated across the country. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the Indian Army and openly praised its courage, bravery and sacrifice. Why is Army Day celebrated only on 15 January?

Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January in India. This day is associated with an important event in Indian military history. On this day in the year 1949, Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa took over as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He met British General F. R. R. Had assumed this responsibility in place of Butcher.
