‘PM Modi will surrender again…’, amid US court’s decision on tariffs, Rahul Gandhi targets Prime Minister

The controversy over US President Donald Trump’s tariffs has now intensified the stir in Indian politics as well. After the US Supreme Court declared Trump’s tariffs illegal, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul has alleged that the country’s interests have been compromised in the India-US trade deal and the truth is now coming out.

Supreme Court’s decision on Trump’s tariffs
The US Supreme Court, while canceling the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, said that the President did not have the right to impose such tariffs. Just hours after the court’s decision, Trump announced the imposition of a 10 percent tariff globally. He said that he is going to sign a new order, under which 10% global tariff will be imposed on countries around the world.

Rahul Gandhi’s direct attack on PM Modi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by posting on social media platform X. He wrote that ‘The Prime Minister has compromised, his deception has now come to light. They cannot negotiate again, they will surrender again.

Congress has been continuously alleging that Indian interests, especially farmers and small businessmen, have been ignored in the India-US trade deal.

Have raised the issue of trade deal earlier also
This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has cornered the government on the issue of trade deals and tariffs. Even before this, he had criticized Prime Minister Modi’s policies many times in Parliament and public forums. Even during the budget session, there was a lot of political rhetoric and uproar on this issue.

India-US trade deal
Talks regarding a trade agreement were going on for a long time between India and America. After differences in many sectors, a consensus was reached in early February and the agreement was announced on 7 February. Under the agreement, Indian agricultural products were allowed to be exported to America at zero tariff, while American agricultural products were not given any special exemption in tariffs in India. The government claims that no compromise has been made with the interests of farmers and the dairy sector.
